A new tenant for Zurich’s ice hockey temple

Following successful negotiations, Livit was able to secure an exciting new tenant for the space at the Swiss Life Arena available for third-party usage: a 500 m2 virtual reality game centre will be created on the site by the end of the year. This will add another attraction to the stadium.

The Swiss Life Arena has been the new home of the historic local ice hockey club ZSC Lions since autumn 2022. Sports and action are beloved by the general public – and there is plenty of space for both at what is currently Switzerland’s most modern sports and events arena. Ice hockey is, of course, a winter sport. However, the Swiss Life Arena is intended to attract a diverse clientele all year round. A usable floor space of around 6,000 m2 is available to third parties for this purpose, with two-thirds of this space already let.

Virtual reality – a new attraction for the Swiss Life Arena

Livit’s rental management team has the exciting task of finding suitable tenants for this modern, attractive space. In addition to the ice hockey facility used by the ZSC Lions and other office space that has already been rented out, the arena also houses a restaurant, a physiotherapy clinic and a dance studio. Another exciting tenant from the entertainment sector will now be joining them at the end of 2023: a virtual reality game centre is moving into premises on the fifth floor. Lovers of virtual reality can look forward to an entire floor, or to put it in figures, about 500 m2, of action in virtual worlds.

The tenant opted for the Swiss Life Arena for several reasons: firstly, its parking facilities and proximity to Altstetten railway station make it easily accessible both by public transport and car. In addition, the rented space offers plenty of room to create a first-rate virtual experience that is sure to delight young and old alike.

The rental management team were by their side from the moment that they got in touch for the first time, through to the initial viewing and, ultimately, to the conclusion of the contract. The opening of the virtual reality game centre is planned for the end of the year.
